The National Youth Foundation (FNT) is organising NextGen Lab, a 9-day Youth Exchange that brings together young people from different countries to learn, create and grow through non-formal education. The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.

About the project
NextGen Lab takes place in Bucharest, Romania, and offers participants a dynamic learning environment built around six key themes: Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Active Citizenship & Sustainability, Arts & Culture, Communication & Media, Health & Well-being, and Technology & Innovation. Through workshops, team challenges, intercultural evenings, city activities and community actions, participants will develop new skills, meet people from different cultures and gain confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
All activities will take place at The Youth by FNT Youth Centre (General Cristian Tell Street, No. 22, Bucharest), a youth-friendly space dedicated to learning, creativity and community engagement.
Who can participate
The exchange is open to young people aged 18–30 years old who are interested in learning, intercultural exchange, and active participation. Each partner organisation is invited to send 4 participants and 1 group leader. The group leader must be 18 or older, and ideally someone with experience in youth work and international mobility.
Practical information
Participants will be accommodated at Popcorn Hostel (Pisoni Street 26, Bucharest), located just 10 minutes on foot from Gara de Nord. All meals are covered by the organising team — breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks. Dietary requirements can be accommodated upon prior notice.
The recommended way to get from Henri Coandă International Airport to the hostel is by train to Gara de Nord (approx. 20–30 min, ~€1.30), available day and night.
Travel costs are reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ distance bands, with higher rates available for green travel (bus, train, carsharing). Accommodation and food are fully covered. Visa fees are not reimbursable.
