I am volunteering at The Youth centre in Bucharest, Romania for 1 month at fundatia nationala pentru tineret (fnt) for the european youth week and to work with young people here.

We are working a lot especially with young ukrainians and organizing events, working on promoting the centre by making pins, flyers and merch.

For me esc projects, especially ones like these where you are working in a very social environment are always very important experience to learn more about myself and develop as a person. Meeting other volunteers from different countries in my age group and being able to exchange thoughts and ideas and talk about our goals and life situations helps a lot to reflect more about my own interests and what I can improve in, also not feeling alone in some situations, when seeing that others may have the same doubts and concerns in this time of their life and connecting with so many different personalities and seeing their perspectives.

The work is also a very important and valuable experience, woking with youngsters has been a lot of fun for me and helping with events especially, it helped me a lot to improve my social skills and being more authentic, specially during the promotions when I had to speak to locals or other young people and being more confident when talking is a great practice. This is also important during the work time, being able to express your doubts and expectations or asking about the plans of the week and tasks.

These kind of projects help me leave my comfort zone, being confronted with a new environment and completely new people and a new place around me. It can be a bit intimidating at first and can feel uncomfortable for a very short period but afterwards I am thankful for going out there and making an unforgettable experience and taking so many beautiful memories and new friend from it that were 100% worth it.

All I want to say is I am so grateful for this opportunity and the time I had here and am excited for the next chapters in my life that I can enter with more confidence and the same motivation I had here. 🙂
