European Youth Week 2026
I am currently an ESC volunteer at “The Youth” youth center in Bucharest, and this experience has been both meaningful and rewarding. As a 22-year-old still exploring my future path, volunteering through the European Solidarity Corps gave me the opportunity to grow personally, meet inspiring people, and become part of an international community.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the multicultural aspect of the experience. Working and sharing a flat with people from different countries allowed me to learn about new cultures and perspectives, while also discovering more about Romanian and Ukrainian culture and language. These small cultural exchanges made me feel more connected to the community and helped me step outside my comfort zone.
During the European Youth Week, I helped organize activities such as the Model European Parliament and welcomed guests to the youth center. Through these activities, I improved my communication and teamwork skills while contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.
What I appreciated the most was working with young people and seeing their motivation to create change in their communities and lives. It was inspiring to support and encourage them through the activities we organized together.
This ESC experience has shown me that volunteering is not only about helping others, but also about discovering yourself, gaining confidence, and learning from the people around you. For me, this journey in Bucharest at FNT has been an unforgettable opportunity for both personal and professional growth.
