Volunteering at the National Youth Foundation through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life. From the very first day, I felt that I was part of something bigger than myself, a community built on solidarity, creativity, and genuine human connection. This experience has given me the opportunity not only to contribute to society, but also to grow both personally and professionally in ways I never expected.

One of the activities I coordinate is the Poetry Club, it is a safe and creative space where we experiment with different poetic techniques, explore various writing styles, and, most importantly, express our emotions freely. Through poetry, we learn how to transform feelings into words, reflect on our experiences, and use writing as a powerful form of emotional release. It is inspiring to see how participants gradually open up and gain confidence in sharing their voices.

I am also involved in the English Speaking Club, which plays an important role in supporting the community, especially members of the Ukrainian community. In this club, we practice conversational English in an interactive and relaxed environment. The goal is not only to improve language skills, but also to create a welcoming space where participants feel supported and encouraged. Language becomes a bridge that helps people integrate more easily, communicate with confidence, and feel more connected to their surroundings.

Another activity close to my heart is the CineClub. During our meetings, we watch a variety of international films, including both feature-length and short films. After each screening, we engage in discussions about the techniques used by directors, storytelling methods, cinematography, and the themes explored. We also analyze film critiques and share our own perspectives. This process helps participants develop critical thinking skills and gain a deeper understanding of cinema as an art form.

In addition, I organize a fun and energetic activity where we play Just Dance. This activity brings everyone together in a completely different way. It reminds us that dancing goes beyond language barriers and that solidarity is built not only through discussions and workshops, but also through shared joy and positive energy, which strengthen the bonds between participants.

I can truly say that this volunteering experience has been incredibly enriching. I have learned how to organize activities, communicate with diverse groups of people, and create meaningful spaces for dialogue and creativity within my community. Most importantly, I have witnessed the real impact that youth work and solidarity can have. Volunteering at the National Youth Foundation through the European Solidarity Corps has not only allowed me to contribute to others’ growth, but has also transformed me into a more empathetic, confident, and engaged person.
